sonic jet flight was in 1947 and in 1956 the hovercraft was made, and in 1964, the Bullet Train was invented. 1969 was the first manned space mission to the moon , the jumbo jet was made in 1970, and the space shuttle was launched in 1981. As you can see, our world has changed since we discovered the wheel. Who knows what we will have in the future? Until then, enjoy what we have now while it is new. A lot has changed through the years, including how we travel from place to place. From the wheel to the spaceship, we have had amazing changes. In the past, people could only walk to places. Then about 3500 B.C. , the wheel and cart was invented along with river boats, or boats with oars. In 2000 B.C. horses started to be a source of movement because of domestication. Then in 181-234 the wheelbarrow was invented. In 1492 Leonardo da Vinci was the first to think about flying machines. The first submarine was created by Cornelis Drebble in 1620, and in 1783 the first hot air balloon was created. In 1769 though, the first self propelled road vehicle was invented by Nicolas Joseph Cugnot. Bicycles were invented in 1790, and the |

steam locomotive was invented in 1801( for roads). In 1807 the first steamboat with a passenger route was created. George Stephenson made the first railroad steam locomotive in 1814. In 1867, the first motor cycle was invented, and in 1871 the first cable car was invented . The first dirigible, the zeppelin, was created in 1899 by Ferdinand von Zeppelin, and the Wright brothers made and rode the first engine airplane in 1903.
