Statement of Philosophy
|
|
St. Paul Lutheran School exists as an expansion of the ministry of St. Paul Lutheran Church. The purpose of St. Paul Lutheran School is to provide for the child a quality Christian Education with emphasis on teaching
the Christian faith and traditional academic subjects.
A beautiful relationship can exist between God and man because of what Christ has done. The primary function of St. Paul Lutheran School is to describe and demonstrate this relationship as it is explained in God's
word, the Bible and through presentation of laq and Gospel. St. Paul Lutheran School has been established for the Christian Education of the membership of St. Paul Lutheran Church and as a ministry of service and
mission outreach to the community.
Along with providing instruction in God's word and leading the child in the Christian faith, St. Paul Lutheran School emphasizes excellence in the language arts, including reading, spelling, handwriting, literature,
composition, and grammar; mathematics; the natural sciences; social sciences; computer science; Spanish; music; art; physical education; and a variety of extra-curricular activities.
St. Paul Lutheran School offers quality Christian Education to all its students and is committed to helping each precious Lamb develop his/her God-given ability. We believe this philosophy can be realized with the
implementation of the following objectives:

- Logical and creative thinking skills.
- Academic skills corresponding to grade level.
- An appreciation of cultural heritage.
- An appreciation of the fine arts and the ability to express oneself aesthetically according to Godgiven talents.
That the child develops--
- An understanding of God as Creator, Ruler and Preserver of Nature.
- A thankful attitude for the bountiful gifts of Creation.
- Respect and responsibility for the care and maintenance of our God-given resources.
- An awareness of current events in the world.
- An application of Christian values and knowledge to situations in the world.
That the child develops--

for Christian upbringing.

Credo
|
|
We believe that God is Creator of all people and the Source of all their gifts. We further believe that a complete education must include spiritual training so that individuals will recognize their lives and use
their lives and gifts to the glory of God and the benefit of others. We promote faith and growth as initiated by the Holy Spirit. We are dedicated to making St. Paul Lutheran School an outreach for gaining
disciples, as well as for nurturing those who are already His.
We believe that St. Paul Lutheran School has a mission to the entire family. St. Paul Lutheran School becomes an extension of the Christian home and congregation in the total development of the child. When a child is
enrolled at St. Paul Lutheran School, the entire family becomes a part of that educational ministry and therefore, every member of that family is encouraged to experience Christian growth.
We believe that Christ died for all people so that by faith in Him we are children in one family. As brothers and sisters in Christ, we enrich one another. Therefore, we are committed to the establishment and
maintenance of a Lutheran school that enhances life by all cultural and ethnic groups through teaching God's Word and supporting the Christian faith and life.
As community citizens, we support efforts toward quality education for all people. We pledge ourselves to work cooperatively with church and community leaders in attaining an improved lifestyle for people of every
race, color, sex, or national origin. We maintain our school as an alternative form of education that includes the promotion of the Christian faith.
This Christian alternative provides for spiritual training in Christian doctrine and life through a sound basic education in subject matter that will help the child develop to his fullest God-given potential
intellectually, physically, emotionally, and socially. God has given each of us measures of abilities and talents that differ according to His grace and purpose for us. Our efforts in Christian Education recognize
this as we attempt to assist each child with his/her individual growth and development.
We feel it is essential for us to share the philosophy of Lutheran Christian Education with all families in order that they may understand its unique purposes prior to enrollment in St. Paul Lutheran School.

The Lutheran School System
|
|
The elementary schools of The Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod date back to the decade between 1830 and 1840, when a number of Lutheran congregations were organized in mid-western states and
established Christian Day Schools for their children. The first of these schools are older than the public schools in most states.
Lutheran Schools are not in competition with the public schools but offer an alternative program of education. The Lutheran School system is an integral part of the American educational
scene.
St. Paul is one of nearly 2,396 Lutheran Schools within the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod. Approximately 240,000 children are enrolled in these schools, which are staffed by more than
20,226 teachers and administrators. The majority of these have received their educational training in Lutheran colleges.
St. Paul is located within the FL-GA District of The Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod. There are presently nearly 90 educational ministries in our district offering Christian Education in
Kindergarten, Elementary, and High School grades.
The teachers meet together in conference with other Lutheran School teachers of the district. Our staff also joins with teachers of the Lutheran Schools in our region for professional growth
experiences.

establishes all policies regarding the administration of the school. The administration, in cooperation with the faculty, are responsible for the execution of all policies established by the C.D.S.B.
We welcome your inquiries about the Church or school, and stand ready to assist you in any way.

History
|
|
Members of St. Paul Lutheran Church established a Kindergarten in 1962 to meet the needs of a Christian Education in a growing parish and community. The program was designed as a mission outreach for the
pre-schoolers in the community and an alternative education for members of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
In the late 60s, extensive planning led to the formation of a complete elementary school by 1973. Grade 1 was established in 1971, grade 2 was added in 1972, and in 1973 - grades 3, 4, and 5.
From 1972 to 1983 a co-operative program with Advent Lutheran Middle School existed. Each had its own Kindergarten and both schools grew tremendously. Advent decided to establish a 1 to 5 program in 1982-83 and St.
Paul began a 6th grade. Since then St. Paul has expanded to 8th grade.
The Lutheran Schools of Boca Raton continue to provide a quality education for parents who desire a Christian Education for their child(ren).
